When you are ill or have a work accident
Act quickly, tell your employer and contact Phantom so you can get the right help.
Medical emergency
1. Call 101 immediately
Do not wait for a BL/250 form before calling for help.
2. Give the exact location
Ask the site manager or a nearby worker to help if needed.
3. Keep the injured person safe
Do not move a seriously injured person unless there is immediate danger at the place.
4. Update Phantom after help is called
If there is danger on site, stop work and move away from the danger.
Work accident that is not life-threatening
1. Stop working and report
Tell the site manager and your Phantom field coordinator immediately.
2. Describe what happened
Write where and when the accident happened, and note witness names when possible.
3. Document only if safe
Take photos of the place only if it is safe to do so.
4. Follow the medical process
Get instructions about the BL/250 form, receive medical treatment and keep every medical document, referral, sick note and receipt.
5. Return only when fit
Do not return to work before you are fit and according to medical instructions.
Illness that is not a work accident
1. Update Phantom early
Tell your Phantom coordinator as early as possible and before the workday starts when you can.
2. Explain the symptoms
If symptoms become severe, such as breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness or strong pain, call 101.
3. Coordinate medical care
Phantom will help coordinate a medical check according to need and medical coverage.
4. Keep documents
Keep medical confirmations and update Phantom if you are still not fit to return after the approved sick-leave period.
