Rocket alerts & protected spaces
What a siren means and what to do. Know this before you need it.
In some situations you may hear a siren (an alert). It means you should move to a protected space right away. Knowing what to do in advance keeps you safe.
When you hear a siren
1. Go to a protected space
Go immediately to the nearest protected space — a protected room (Mamad), a shelter, or an interior stairwell away from windows.
2. If you are outdoors
If there is no shelter nearby, follow the official Home Front Command guidance for being outside.
3. Wait until it is safe
Stay in the protected space until you are told it is safe to leave.
Official Home Front Command app
Get real-time alerts on your phone
Install the official Home Front Command (Pikud HaOref) app to receive alerts for your area. It is free and available in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian and English.
Know this in advance
- Ask your Phantom contact and your site where the nearest protected space is.
- Keep the Home Front Command app installed so you get warnings for your area.
