Rocket alerts & protected spaces

What a siren means and what to do. Know this before you need it.

In some situations you may hear a siren (an alert). It means you should move to a protected space right away. Knowing what to do in advance keeps you safe.

When you hear a siren

  • Go immediately to the nearest protected space — a protected room (Mamad), a shelter, or an interior stairwell away from windows.
  • If you are outdoors with no shelter nearby, follow the official Home Front Command guidance for being outside.
  • Stay in the protected space until you are told it is safe to leave.

Know this in advance

  • Ask your Phantom contact and your site where the nearest protected space is.
  • Install the official Home Front Command (Pikud HaOref) alert app for warnings in your area.
  • The Home Front Command line is 104.

Official, up-to-date instructions come from the Home Front Command (Pikud HaOref). Always follow their guidance for your area.
